On 23 November, over 70 people, including 25 of our Leiden and Delft PhD students and postdocs, visited companies at the Leiden Bio Science Park. This second edition of the BSP Excursion included a fundamentals track and had a special focus on start-ups.

The Bèta Banen Markt (Science Career Event) organised the business orientation for students of the Leiden University Faculty of Science. To facilitate international students and our PhD students, the programme was fully in English. At six companies, university alumni gave presentations about their studies and their current jobs. The introduction sessions included two talks by Delft alumni: one by Warner Venstra, on his start-up Quantified Air, and another by Aysen Lisa Norte, who now works for SysBioSym.
