Superconductivity at room temperature would result in enormous savings for overhead power lines and equipment. However, until now there was no theory that could show if and how this is possible. Jian-Huang She of the LION who received his PhD in Physics on May 3rd has developed such a theory. This theory explains high-temperature superconductivity in a bizarre quantum critical state.
