PCDI organises the STEM Postdoc Retreat. At this 3-day course, postdocs and final year PhD students in the Science, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learn through lectures, workshops and networking sessions how to get the most out of their career.

Follow a total of 3 workshop sessions to identify and improve your skills to use them at the best. For those aiming for a career in academia, hear what else you can do to succeed next to building a strong publication record.

This retreat also offers a unique opportunity to look beyond academia. Network with PhD students who now work in industry, spin-offs, government and other organisations, hear how they shaped their career, learn about the many possible career paths for STEM scientists.

How have successful PhD graduates shaped their career? Get inspired by stories from within and outside academia. Discuss with STW director Eppo Bruins, former dean and ASML VP Bart Noordam, Shell manager Marja Zonnevylle and NIKHEF researcher Els Koffeman to develop a vision on your role in society. Take part in interactive workshops, discover new professional challenges. This 14th edition of the retreat will take place from 28 - 30 October 2015 and targets PhD students in the final stage and postdocs in (Life) Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
