Friday, September 4, Martin van Hecke held his inaugural address. The title of his talk translates to "Balls, bubbles, bullets", referring to his research on granulates, foams and macro emulsions. In his research Martin is fascinated by the complexity of systems that seem simple at first glance, but certainly aren't.
