Physics with Industry is a workshop that focuses on devising innovative solutions for scientifically challenging, commercial business cases.
NWO has been organising this workshop together with the Lorentz Center since 2010. The aim is to stimulate cooperation and knowledge exchange between science and industry. Scientists and researchers from both academia and industry work closely together for a week to find original solutions to challenging industrial problems.
Five days, 40 physicists, lots of formulas and brilliant ideas! The teams consist of PhD students and postdocs from research institutions and universities across the Netherlands. Each team has access to a company representative and senior researcher to ensure progress and scientific quality.
Do you want to broaden your horizon and get to know the industry? Then this is the workshop for you! During this workshop, you will become acquainted with the industry by working on a company case. Together with the company, you go over the problem and start working towards a solution with your team. By collaborating with other researchers from different disciplines, you expand your network and experience working within a team with a common mission.
The workshop takes place every year at the Lorentz Center in Leiden and the language of communication is English. Participation is free of charge, including the lunches and dinners mentioned in the program. Registration for this workshop will open in August.
