Title          :      Magnetic materials for applications, a theoretical report

Abstract   :      In this presentation magnetic materials will be discussed with emphasis on applications as rare-earth free permanent magnets as well as for  magnetocaloric applications. Theoretical aspects of these materials will be analyzed, in particular the electronic structure as given by first principles theory. The possibility to predict materials with improved properties will be discussed in connection to experimental results.
