ASML is always searching for brilliant minds. Every year in November, we host the ASML PhD Master Class. This year’s edition we will deliver you a fully virtual experience, showcasing some of the fascinating and extreme technology challenges we’re currently working on at ASML.
We invite PhD students and graduates to join a two-day program, with two online sessions per day. We invite you to use your brilliant mind in a team-based workshop aimed at cracking these challenges. You’ll get to know our culture and how we work, and meet PhD peers from all over the world. We’ll also be setting up personal interviews to help you get you acquainted with ASML.
We encourage you to apply if you are enrolled in a European university and if you graduated less than a year ago or you are in your final year of your PhD program in one of the fields below.

One of the reasons why ASML has already attracted some of the world's best minds is the very nature of what we do; the ICs that we help to make impact on every level of society. You could say that we help to make healthcare systems more affordable for example or transport systems greener and more energy-efficient. You could also say that we make education more accessible to everyone. We make these things happen because microchips are at the heart of all electronic things, and we create the machines that not only help making microchips, but our creative technology continues to make them smaller, faster and cheaper. And having an impact on almost every aspect of modern human life is a challenge that talented people seem to rise up to with enthusiasm.
ASML PhD Master Class Course application process
1. Apply
Applications for the ASML PhD Master Class open in July, and the deadline to apply is August 31. You’ll need to include a resume with your contact details. You may also include your GPA information and publications.
2. First selection round
We’ll let you know by September 14 if your resume has been selected. If you are selected to proceed to the second round, we’ll ask you to record and submit a video cover letter (motivation video).
3. Second selection round
The technical selection board will review your resume and video. We’ll let you know whether you’ve been selected by mid-October.
