The Research School Accreditation Committee -ECOS, part of the Royal Netherlands Academy for Arts and Sciences- re-accredited Casimir Research School for a period of six years.

Assessment
Based on the assessment, the committee concludes that Casimir excels in focusing on cutting edge research, and that the research school is very successful in incorporating this aspect in the internationally oriented courses that are offered to their PhD's and postdocs. Furthermore, the committee stated that Casimir has a worldwide reputation.

The ECOS committee
The Academy established the Research School Accreditation Committee in 1992 at the request of the Dutch Ministry of Education and Science. Evaluation rounds have taken place annually since that year. The committee, which is chaired by prof. dr. Peter Nijkamp, is an independent body. The purpose of the ECOS accreditation procedure is to accredit research schools that run PhD programs. The research schools are assessed against specific quality criteria with regard to teaching and research.

The Research School Accreditation Committee assesses teaching and research at Dutch research schools against specific quality criteria. Approximately two thirds of the accredited research schools resulted from partnerships between research groups at multiple universities.
