Pursuing a career in science is not always easy. About 75% of all PhD candidates will leave university after completion of the thesis. However, for those who want to work outside academia, it can be difficult to show the added value of a PhD. Regardless of what career you aspire, it is important for PhD candidates to start thinking about career opportunities and required skills in an early stage. Hence, the theme of the National PhD Day 2015 is “Enhance your career!”

The program consists of interactive workshops, an information market and inspiring talks by plenary speakers. On top of that, we will be awarding the ‘Best Supervisor of the Year Award’. Nominations are still open! Of course, we will end the day with drinks, where you can work on your network (skills). PhD candidates from all fields of research are invited to join the second National PhD Day in Delft. The National PhD Day is organized by the PhD Candidate Network of The Netherlands (PNN), the national organization that represents the interests of all PhDs in The Netherlands.
