One PhD vacancies is available in the Conesa-Boj Lab in the Department of Quantum Nanoscience in Delft. This PhD position is supported by the European Research Council through the TESLA project: “Living on the Edge: Tunable Electronics from Edge Structures in 1D Layered Materials”.
The overarching goal of TESLA is to unravel the interplay between structural and electrical edge-induced properties in 1D layered materials by exploiting state-of-the-art electron microscopy and related techniques. This work will provide input towards novel quantum technologies for developing low-energy-consumption tunable electronics, efficient signal processing, and quantum computation.
Requirements: The PhD candidates hold a master degree in physics, mathematics, materials science, or related topics. Familiarity with advanced transmission electron microscopy tools would be a bonus, but it is not a requirement for applicants.
Applications: Please submit your motivation letter, CV, a summary of your Master thesis, a list with grades of the courses that you took during your studies, and names of two referees as one single PDF file and send it to s.conesaboj@tudelft.nl. Please also arrange for these two reference letters to be sent to the same address.
Applications will remain open until the position is filled.
If you would like to request more information about these positions, please contact Sonia Conesa-Boj at s.conesaboj[at]tudelft.nl
