Sense Jan van der Molen was recently interviewed for the Dutch radio show ‘Hoe!Zo?’. His group studied charge transport through a series of slightly different molecules and showed that the presence of side groups can lead to a strong suppression of the molecular conductance. This fascinating effect is associated with destructive quantum interference. They reported their work in Nature Nanotechnology.
