We’ve just opened a unique funding opportunity for Casimir PhD candidates to stimulate research collaborations with external groups, namely the Casimir PhD Travel Grant. This travel grant allows PhDs to visit other institutions for an extended period (from 1 week up to 3 months) for a research collaboration. Not only will this enable them to benefit from international collaborations in their research, but it will also help them to build an international network.
As COVID has impacted all students in their in-person interactions and the ability to start new collaborations, we have decided to stimulate research exchanges for our PhD candidates with this new Casimir funding instrument. These grants will allow further development of specific skills of the PhD candidate by learning new techniques and expertise in another lab. In addition, the grant provides an opportunity for PhD candidates to work on their professional network.
Note that the application deadline is January 31st, 2023.
Applications should include, i.a., support letters from the PhD supervisor and the host institute, and a research proposal that describes the goal of the visit (of max. 2 pages).
More information (including details on the application) can be found on our website.
