PROGRAM

BN Seminar - Geert Kops (Hubrecht Institute): 'Evolution and function of eukaryotic kinetochores'

Date:

Time:

16:00 hrs

Location:

A1.100

The kinetochore is a multiprotein structure that links chromosomes to microtubules, and that emits molecular signals in order to safeguard the equal distribution of the chromosomes during cell division. I will talk about our efforts to map and understand kinetochore diversity in eukaryotes, and how we use insights gained from these efforts to guide experiments on kinetochore function in human cells.
