PhD position in Leiden, Tura lab: quantum algorithms for near-term devices

The aQa (applied quantum algorithms) group at Leiden University welcomes applications for PhD positions, which will be supported by the Quantum Delfta initiative.
 
Topic: We are looking for individuals with an excellent academic record interested in the development of new quantum algorithmic methods for near-term quantum computers, with applications in machine learning, optimization, chemistry, formal verification, and highly correlated physical systems. Students and young researcher with a strong background in theoretical quantum computing, but also computer science, quantum chemistry, AI and mathematics, who are excited to learn about quantum computing, are invited to apply. 
 
Excellent English communication skills are required. Programming and numerical skills are highly desirable.
