Title: "Quantum science experiments with diamond NV centers: quantum sensing, computing and long-distance entanglement"

Diamond has emerged in the past decade as a unique platform for quantum science and engineering. By applying state-of-the-art techniques from magnetic resonance and quantum optics on single diamond NV centers we have gained full control of the quantum dynamics of electrons, photons and nuclear spins. In addition, we have developed quantum non-demolition measurement protocols that enable the implementation of quantum feedback protocols. Thanks to these and other rapid developments, NV center experiments currently operate at the cutting edge of several exciting areas in both fundamental and applied quantum science.

In this talk I will explain the basic properties of NV centers and our control techniques, and discuss current experiments in our labs on Heisenberg-limited quantum sensing, quantum computing and creation of entanglement over 1km for a loophole-free Bell test.
