Tuesday 2 March; Delft, Yasuhiro Asano 'Luminescence of a Superconducting PN Junction'

Date:

Location: Zaal E (F005)

Time: 15:00 hrs - 16:00 hrs

Mr. Asano is from the Hokkaido University, Department of Applied Physics, Sapporo Japan.

Abstract: We theoretically discusses the photon emission spectra of a superconducting pn-junction. On the basis of the second order perturbation theory for electron-photon interaction,
we show that the recombination of a Cooper pair with two p-type carriers causes enhancement of the luminescence intensity. The calculated results of  photon emission spectra
explain characteristic features of observed signal in an recent experiment by Suemune's group in Hokkaido university.
