A highly conducting molecular wire (Leiden)

[25-07-2008]

Oren Tal, Manabu Kiguchi and collaborators in the group of Jan van Ruitenbeek have made a bridge of a single benzene molecule between platinum electrodes. They show that the bridge is a very good conductor, and the discovery may form a new approach towards electronic circuits that exploit the properties of single molecules.
