The Casimir PhD Platform and Leiden Physics PhD Committee are conducting a survey to evaluate the effects of the pandemic on our wellbeing. Our goal is not only to identify specific problems that you might encounter, but also to find (partial) solutions for them. We think this is especially important because we expect at least several months of continued corona-measures....
We hope to get a high number of respondents such that we can make a strong argument about what really helps PhD students and postdocs in dealing with negative consequences of the pandemic (e.g. better equipment at home, possible extensions, more moral support, etc.). Our institute directors and several PIs have already voiced their support for this survey. Based on the survey results, we want to give them suggestions on how they can support us. Furthermore, we want to find out how every one of us can support their colleagues in the best way.
We therefore strongly encourage all PhD students and postdocs in Casimir to fill in this survey! The survey is fully anonymous and confidential. In case you haven't received an e-mail with the link to the survey, please contact Marije (see below). It will take about 15 minutes of your time. On 20 October, we will close the form and a report on the results is expected for the first week of November.
If you have any questions, or if you would like to receive the link to the survey, feel free to contact Marije Boonstra (Coördinator Casimir Research School, boonstra@physics.leidenuniv.nl).
