NW0-subsidy for new electronic microscope (Leiden)

Prof. dr. J. van Ruitenbeek (Leiden) is leading a research team which recently received a subsidy for developing a new microscope under the name ESCHER (Electronic, Structural and CHEmical nanoimaging in Real-time).

The subsidy is one out of nine that has been appointed within the programme ‘Investments NWO-Large scale’. The electronic microscope has been developed by Ruud Tromp, researcher at IBM and part-time professor at the University of Leiden.
