PD position in Delft, Vandersypen lab: Entanglement of individual electron spins in semiconductor quantum dots


Entanglement is the most profound phenomenon predicted by quantum mechanics. In the past few years, we have shown that it is possible to manipulate and read out the spin states of invididual electrons in semiconductor quantum dots. At present we aim to controllably create and detect entanglement between the spins, and to use this entanglement in simple protocols such as quantum algorithms and quantum state teleportation.
