PhD position in Leiden, Schmidt lab: Single-Molecule Cell Biology

We apply and develop in vivo Single-Molecule Microscopy methods in order to follow the molecular players in various signaling pathways one-by-one and in real time, thereby obtaining direct information on the physical and mechanistic processes underlying cellular signaling processes.

Are you interested in working on biological-oriented projects in a new and fast developing field where the distinction between physics, chemistry and biology has vanished?

For an application attach to your letter: a letter of motivation, your CV, transcripts (grad student), publication list (postdoc), and contact information of two individuals that are willing to provide us with a letter of recommendation. The information should be addressed to Prof. Dr. Thomas Schmidt ( or, to use the digital form, please click here.
