Rubicon Fellowship for Jan Dahlhaus

Dr. Jan Dahlhaus has been awarded a prestigious Rubicon Fellowship from the Netherlands Organisation of Scientific Research, for postdoctoral study at the University of California at Berkeley. Jan Dahlhaus did his Ph.D. research in the group of prof. Carlo Beenakker at the Instituut-Lorentz for theoretical physics, on the topic of topological superconductivity. This is a new class of materials that is predicted to host exotic particles called Majorana fermions. Jan Dahlhaus will explore optical analogues of this phenomenon in the group of prof. Joel Moore at Berkeley.
