Advanced Microscopy

This Casimir course is aimed at providing our PhD students with a solid background on the principles of optical and electron microscopy techniques and their applications to study biological processes from the single‐molecule to the cellular level.

During eight days in October and early November (October 16,17, 23, 24, 30, 31 and November 6 and 7) the lecturers will elaborate on the following topics:

  • Fluorescence, microscopy, correlation spectroscopy, application FRET
  • Superresolution fluorescence microscopy
  • Live cell/animal fluorescence/bioluminescence imaging
  • SEM, TEM, AFM
  • Cryo‐TEM, Electron tomography, correlative light and electron microscopy

Lab tours are also part of the course days. For an overview of the topics and involved lecturers, please see the attached course schedule.

It is not possible to register for this course anymore. If you forgot to register, please contact Marije Boonstra to check if you can still participate.
