Casimir PhD travel grants - application deadline

Date:

[update 31 Jan]: Applications for the Casimir PhD Travel Grants are closed.
If you missed the deadline, but are still interested in visiting another lab, please consider applying for an EMBO Exchange Grant. These grants are aimed to support international collaborations, enabling transfer of expertise. They accept applications throughout the year. More information about the EMBO Exchange Grants can be found here.

Casimir PhD Travel Grants
The Casimir PhD Travel Grants aim at promoting research exchanges of Casimir PhD candidates in other labs, by covering travel and accommodation costs for a short-term visit of the fellow.

As COVID has impacted all students in their in-person interactions and the ability to start new collaborations, we have decided to stimulate research exchanges for our PhD candidates with this new Casimir funding instrument. These grants will allow further development of specific skills of the PhD candidate by learning new techniques and expertise in another lab. In addition, the grant provides an opportunity for PhD candidates to work on their professional network.

  • What: funding for PhD students to visit other institutions for extended periods (up to 3 months) for a research collaboration with external groups / institution, with the purpose of enabling them to benefit from international collaborations in their research and to help them build an international network. Applications for grants to attend courses, workshops, symposia, conferences, or schools will not be considered.
  • Duration: visits should be between 7 days and 3 months.
