Quantum Europe: a new era of technology

Date:

Time:

two full days

Location:

Europe building, Kattenburgerplein 1, Amsterdam

All around the world, researchers and engineers are working on ‘the second quantum revolution’, which takes the rules of quantum mechanics to develop new technologies. Quantum technologies offer revolutionary improvements in terms of capacity, sensitivity and speed, and will be the decisive factor for success in many industries and markets. Now is the time for Europe to join forces to launch a Flagship scale initiative to catch this second quantum wave.

About quantum technologies in Europe

Quantum Europe is a conference on Quantum Technologies. These technologies based on the laws of quantum mechanics will have a radical impact on solving many of today’s global challenges. During the event a Manifesto will be presented containing a comprehensive strategy for Europe to stay at the forefront of this emerging technology.

Quantum science is starting to be applied in information, communication, sensing and computation technologies. Worldwide developments are accelerating due to major technological breakthroughs and growing strategic and industrial investments worldwide.

Europe has a significant role to play in the further development and commercialization of these technologies. An ambitious European agenda combining science, engineering and entrepreneurship is needed in order to unlock the full potential of quantum technologies.

Aim of the conference

In this context the Netherlands is holding a conference on Quantum Technologies, in cooperation with the European Commission and QuTech, the quantum technology institute in Delft. The goal of this conference is to enhance overall activity and investment in Quantum Technologies across Europe and to offer a platform for the European scientific and industrial community to present a comprehensive strategy for Europe to stay at the forefront of this emerging technology.

In the run-up to the conference, stakeholders from science & industry and Member States will be invited to contribute to a Quantum Manifesto containing a call for action on how to maintain Europe's world leadership in Quantum Technologies.

Endorse the Quantum Manifesto

Via this link you can endorse the Manifesto. All individuals from Academia, Industry and Governmental and Funding institutions are invited to endorse the Manifesto. In the final version of the manifesto, a general overview of the received endorsements will be included.

How to participate

Participation of the conference is by invitation only. If you would like to participate, but did not yet receive a ‘Save the Date’ message, please send an email to quantumeurope@minez.nl
